okey dokey ladies
sticker number five - (humming 'mambo number five' to myself now - haha so tragic -
ditched chapter - decided it had sucked up too much energy already -
so spent whole day working on book. well, most of day - got up speed nearer end of afternoon. so, didn't spend whol day writing- but spent whole day getting back into rhythm, which i reckon kinda counts - !!
so yep a sticker for me :)

have to be on 7am bus in the morning! to go and meet ellen from alberta in town for bfast!! - want to go and represent thw etc etc :) but am terrified i'll sleep thru alarm! cross fingers for me plz!!

stop! sticker time...

am nearly done with chapter - it's not due till next fri (yay for crappy memory!)- but have decided to kill it this weekend anyway -
it's going well: lots of rearranging and wriggling in structure - am now wondering how ppl listening to the conf paper version of it managed to make sense of it at all! haha. but yep, not long now. just a couple more paragraphs to write up then a section to edit then i'm done done done :)

i want to *finish my book* and i want to *start my next one* really soon! am sick of ppl being promoted who haven't done the mahi - but in order to be rightfully pissed off i have to have done the mahi myself! - not the purest sweetest motivator, maybe, but it works for me!!

welcome ocean! yeah i'm going to miss the toihuarewa bbq stink - i asked paul if he'd send some bbq by delivery but no reply yet haha - yeah i was being sneaky and referring to our initial being 'roa' in the intro blurb to the blog about how we'll write at length - hadn't noticed the 'oar' tho - hoea te waka aye!!

i'm going to award myself a sticker (although maybe it should only be half a sticker if not strictly new stuff?) - i've done lots of work today to clear the path for this chapter - have replied some urgent emails, and gone through the publishing guidelines etc for the chapter (which are in french! talk about slow reading! haha) - and reread what i've written so far and made notes. am all set up for kicking it in the butt tomorrow - so, no 'fresh' writing, but i (and i think paul silvia) would code this as writing-related activity, particularly because i did it specifically in order to get myself ready to write tomorrow, as opposed to just procrastinating) so i think it's going to count in my book! hmm. what you guys reckon?
ps ra - when you hop on and read this, in case you've missed out on paul silvia and his magical book 'how to write a lot' it has been dong the rounds - i think pete has got it at the moment so nick it off him :)

Not a Sticker - But a 'Hey I'm Here!'
Kia ora Arihia! and Ra! Thanks heaps and heaps Arihia for setting up this blog :-) This is going to be heaps of fun, but as you say it's also going to be a great writing motivator.
Did you notice that our initials spell OAR (some), ROA and ORA. Not to mention ARO! Chur us.
Yep definitely missing you! heaps Arihia, and your wheely chair in the corridor, not to mention Matiu. Oh. Still, we will see Matiu at the marae next week for the Toihuarewa BBQ, mm, will be thinking of you missing out on those yummy chops and sausies :-)
Please pass on my best regards to Sue, and mwah for now, will post my first sticker tomorrow (notice there was no 'try' in that sentence).

a sticker for 'a'

i have opened the document i need to work on tomorrow - it's a chapter for a book that has arisen from a conference - i need to get it in my friday - i think it's doable - but this first step of working out what i need to do, and at least sorting out the inro and conlusion bits of the chapter, has broken the ice :) and what's even cooler, i wouldn't have done it (shame on me! shame!) if i hadn't had some stickering to do - so thanks wahine ma for keeping me writing xx

so i set up this blog for us - it's easy-peasy to post to etc -
perhaps i'll post my first 'sticker' after this first message - i'm going to try to remember to put up a 'sticker' (with reason why i deserve it or why i don't get a sticker) each day -
miss you both! hope the corridor wheelie chair conferences are still going well...
